Uptown Mosaic is a monthly online magazine that captures the vibrant, active lifestyle of its readers through original short fiction, feature articles about newsmakers and current events, critical essays, poetry, cartoons, photography and art.
General Guidelines
Uptown Mosaic Magazine accepts unsolicited submissions from both published and unpublished writers of original fiction, non-fiction, book excerpts, poetry, critical essays, photos and art. We’re looking for thought provoking writing that that examines society and culture in a way that’s challenging, fresh, innovative, irreverent, and hip.
We do not accept any submissions previously published or pieces simultaneously submitted to another magazine or website.
Word Counts
Submissions of Fiction and Non-Fiction must be 5,000 words or fewer.
There is no line limit for Poetry submissions, but we prefer poems be two pages or fewer.
Response Time
Average response time to submissions is 30 days.
Fiction Submission Guidelines
Submissions of short fiction may be of any genre or types are accepted. Fiction submissions must be 5,000 words or fewer.
Poetry Submission Guidelines
Poetry submissions of any genre or types are accepted. There is no line or word limit for poetry submissions, but we prefer poems be two pages or fewer.
Photography/Art Submission Guidelines
Final publication requires a 300 dpi image in JPG, BMP, or TIF format
Non-Fiction Submission Guidelines
Topics of interest include: Public affairs, business, law, education, the family, economics, the environment, natural history, science, the arts, religion, culture and society.
